Jason is currently a Director of Student Services for a mid-sized school district in Oregon, a position he’s held for four years. Prior to his directorship, he spent three years as an Instructional Coach, four years as a Learning Specialist in a high school, and four years as a Learning Specialist in a middle school. He specializes in Inclusive Practices and Least Restrictive Learning Environments (LRE) for students, and has experience as a district Expulsion Hearings officer.
He holds an M.S. in Education from Concordia University - Portland, and has Lewis and Clark’s Special Education and Administrator Endorsements. He also has the Professional Administrator and Educational Leadership Endorsement from Concordia University - Chicago.
His work is rooted in a sincere desire to improve the lives of the students served by special education that he’s responsible for, and to ensure that every student gets the education they’re entitled to. Before returning to school for his master’s degree, he worked for Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in outdoor education and advocacy. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors.
