FAQs

Are you an attorney or legal advocate?

No. I cannot file legal paperwork on your behalf or advise you on legal matters. I do understand the situations in which you might need to get a lawyer involved, and would be happy to help you connect with a lawyer depending on your needs. Additionally, here’s a list of lawyers in Oregon who can help in your special education legal disputes.

Will you come to my school with me and meet with administrators?

No. I’m happy to explain and provide context for what you’re experiencing, and depending on the case, prepare you with the kinds of questions you’ll need to ask moving forward, but I will not accompany you to your school or speak to administrators or teachers on your behalf.

I’m not sure which of your services is right for me. What should I do?

Send me an email and describe your situation—from there, you and I can decide if I’m a good fit for you and what service might benefit you most.

Will you work with my child?

No. My focus is on working with you to explain the context and circumstances that you and your child are in, rather than working with your child directly.

I’m a teacher and I’d like some perspective from an administrator. Should I get in touch?

My practice is focused on parents of children in the special education system, but very occasionally I take on consultation work for teachers. Send me an email and describe your situation. If it’s a good fit, I’ll get in touch.
